Dr. McMahon was born and raised in Sonoma, CA. As a youth, he played competitive soccer year-round and served several leadership roles, including ASB President, at St. Vincent de Paul High School in Petaluma. He continued his education at the University of California, Davis, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science (BS) in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior.

He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the School of Dentistry at UCLA, graduating with the Dean’s Medal Award for outstanding leadership and academic excellence. Highlights of Dr. McMahon’s six-year surgical residency include a prestigious surgical fellowship from the Osteo Science Foundation and his service to the Thousand Smiles Foundation when he traveled to Ensenada, Mexico to perform cleft lip and palate surgeries on children with congenital craniofacial defects. As chief resident of UCLA oral & maxillofacial surgery, Dr. McMahon managed and led 12+ hour complex cancer-excision operations and performed one of the first emergent surgeries in a COVID+ patient at UCLA at the start of the 2020 pandemic.

Dr. McMahon is a board-certified surgeon of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and is now in private practice in Santa Rosa, CA. He specializes in dental implant placement, zygomatic implants, full-mouth reconstructions, wisdom teeth extractions, and general anesthesia for pediatric and adult patients. His medical expertise additionally contributes to the strategic management of intricate cases involving cancer and other comorbidities.

Dr. McMahon enjoys road trips with his wife, Mimi, watching the English soccer league (Chelsea FC fan), and hiking with their rescued Siberian husky, Charlie, throughout the Sonoma and Napa Valleys.
